Haiti First Three Days

Days Two & Three

Hello Family and Friends,

We safely arrived in Haiti yesterday.   All team members did well on the flight and we even have all of our luggage :-).

Days two and three were busy and exciting days for us.  We began day two with a 3:30 am wake up call and a 4:00 am hotel departure.  We left Miami on Flight 377 at 7:00 am and arrived in Haiti about two hours later.

After retrieving all of our luggage, we traveled to Fonds Parisien to our new temporary home at Love a Child.  We met Bobby and Sherry Burdette and some of their wonderful children.  What a treat this was!!!  We were then off on a tour and a history lesson, thanks Pastor Mark, and then orientation with our foreman, another Mark.  We also got a chance to meet some of the wonderful people in their community.  The children adored us and we loved them.  This was a highlight for many of us.  Then we had dinner and a team devotion, before calling it quits for the night.

Day three started early with 5:30 am breakfast and a team devotion.  We were then placed in our teams and taken to the work site.  This was a  day that challenged many of us and forced us out of our comfort zones.  But everyone did well.  We worked together and put our hands to the plow!  At the end of the day, we were tired, sweaty, dirty but charged up that we had such a productive day.  To God Be The Glory.

It is late and we have another early day tomorrow.  Be sure to check out our photo slide show and see many of the great shots we were able to take.

God bless,
Donna Lee

Day One

Well, this is our fourth attempt to post to the blog. as a matter of a fact, I am using Sabrina my roommate's phone.

We have had an interesting day. We are currently in Miami and have a 4 am call for a 7 am flight to Port Au Prince.

We met our Love A Child rep, Marc. He is a wonderful gentleman who told us what to expect this week I'm sure you will be as excited as we are to hear the first homes that are built will go to amputees. We can't wait to get started.

Well like I said, we have an early call, so I'd better get to bed.

As usual, pray for us and our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
